[Production] Ahmed Rachedi makes a movie on Ben Boulaid.

The Algerian film- maker Ahmed Rachedi is currently shooting a movie in Oran (western Algeria) on the life of the Algerian revolution’s hero Mustapha Ben Boulaid.

On the sidelines of the international Arab films festival, which runs from July28 through august 03, Ahmed Rachedi declared that most of the movie scenes will be shot in this town. One of the core scenes of the film is that one showing a highly risky encounter between Ben Boulaid and the other war hero Krim Belkacem in one of the town’s café terrace.

The last scene of the movie, recounts the first two hours of the outbreak of the Algerian revolution in Oran as well as in Algiers, to spotlight the existing synchronization nation wide during this glorious war.

The director declared that he gave up a previous project dealing with a movie on the famous sociologist , Ibn Khaldun” to shift his interest on this new one. Rachedi added that the movie is “a call of the heart” he said “This work is one of my priorities, I would like to bring back the bravery of Mustapha Ben Boulaid and his heroic past “ . The director went on saying that he intends to make other movies on the other heroes of the Algerian revolutionary war, namely: krim Belkacem and Colonel lotfi.

اضطر المخرج أحمد راشدي للبحث عن خليفة للمثل الرئيسي حسان كشاش، بعد أن تأكدت استحالة مواصلة الممثل المذكور في عمله إثر الإصابة التي تعرض لها على مستوى ساقه، والتي استدعت توقف التصوير منذ شهور. واهتدى المخرج إلى الاستعانة بالممثل في بعض المشاهد التي لا تتطلب الكشف عن وجهه الذي قد يستعان به في بعض المشاهد المتبقية والتي لا يبذل فيها مجهودات بدنية.
للإشارة، فإن الممثل حسان كشاش، الذي يقوم بتقمص شخصية بن بولعيد، قد أصيب بكسر عنيف في رجله اليسرى أثناء تصويره لإحدى المشاهد، أجرى على إثرها عملية جراحية
